Safety Vest Level 3

FUNCTION The protective vest serves as impact protection, is designed for the field of equestrian sports and for people dealing with horses, and offers an extended protection area. Based on the technology used, this protective vest provides optimal protection against the consequences of an accident, significantly reduces the risk of injury, but injuries cannot be completely prevented.

The certified protective vest absorbs to a certain extent the impact energy in the event of an impact and therefore reduces the risk of injury. The protective vest generally cannot avoid an accident, in the event of an impact there is no 100% guarantee that fractures, sprains, abrasions and other wounds will be prevented. Please note that no protective vest (PSA) guarantees full protection and that, despite equipping you with a safety vest, the level of risk should be assessed for each riding activity. Injuries cannot be completely prevented, but their severity can be reduced. A protective vest cannot prevent injuries in case of twisting, curvature, stretching or crushing, as well as injuries to the spine.
In addition to the protective vest, the manufacturer recommends wearing additional protective equipment for other body parts and adapted sports clothing, e.g.: a helmet.

EN-CERTIFICATE
This protective vest is classified as personal protective equipment (PPE) and complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/425 of the European Parliament and EN 13158:2018 – Level 3 (purple label). Class 3 products are subjected to the most severe tests.
There are 3 protection classes, as The European Regulation 2016/425 provides for the production of protective vests for various activities and end users. No protective vest can prevent serious injuries in the event of an accident.
Level 1/Black Label: Protective vests that offer a lower level of protection and are only allowed for licensed jockeys.
Level 2/brown label: Protective vests that offer a lower than usual level of protection and are only suitable for use in low-risk situations.
These do not include riding on roads or other hard surfaces, riding over obstacles, riding excitable young horses. Safety vests tested according to Level 2 should not be worn by inexperienced riders under any circumstances.
Level 3/Purple Label: Protective vests that offer a level of protection deemed appropriate for normal riding, for use in competitions and for working with horses. Protective vests that correspond to level 3 provide the following protection: - prevention of minor bruising and bruises, causing stiffness and pain - attenuation of
major injuries to soft tissue to the level of bruises - preventing a limited number of
rib fractures - Reduction of impact energy on the spine The measurement within the framework of the European standard EN 13158:20 18 is carried out as follows: A flat and a rod-shaped fall body falls in free fall (impact energy 35 J for the flat fall body and 45 J for the rod-shaped fall body) on the protector lying on a bumper. This anvil is connected to a measuring system that measures the remaining energy below the protector. This test method simulates a fall from the horse, a hoof stroke or a blow with a stick.
If there is a maximum registered force of 4 CN, the protective vest reaches protection class 3. No single value may exceed 6 CN. The back protector complies with the European standard EN 13158:2018, protection class 3.

Note: EN 13158:2018 includes 3 protection classes: Level 3 offers the highest protection!

This protective vest has been tested in accordance with the BETA 2018 Horse Rider Body and Should Protector
Standard. Only protective vests that meet the criteria of EN 13158:2018 can be tested by BETA 2018 and may be labelled with the beta label if the result is positive.
The BETA Standard stipulates that the protective vest is subjected to a functional test every year. This guarantees a stable quality and function of the protective vest.
The vest has been classified as a Level 3 protective vest, but this award is not a safety guarantee and confirms that this vest can prevent serious injury. With each modification, the item loses any compliance with the Beta Standard.

USE AND RESTRICTION
This protective vest protects against impacts in the event of a fall from the horse (protection in case of impact on hard and soft surfaces, in case of impact against objects such as trees, vehicles or posts.
Stunned riders are also at risk of being kicked by the horse). This protective vest offers a level of protection suitable for traditional riding, competitions or working with horses.

NOTES/ADJUSTMENT
When you buy a protective vest, make sure you choose the right
size. The safety vest is designed to be worn as close to the body as possible, i.e. over a thin base layer. The size is correct if the vest does not sit uncomfortably tight or too loose and the movement sequences in the usual rider position are not unduly impaired or obstructed. The protective vest has been designed to cover the entire torso and chest. The upper end of the protective vest should cover the 7th cervical vertebra (known as the slightly protruding vertebrae in the neck). According to the certification, the size of the riding protection vest is assigned to the body measurements listed in the following table (chest circumference, waist circumference, length waist/waist over shoulder). The width regulation of this protective vest is integrated, i.e. the vest automatically adapts to the chest and waist circumference of the user to a certain extent, as specified in the standard EN13158:2018. Before purchasing, the protective vest should be checked for its fit. The protective bodies are innated in an exact position in an upper fabric shell. To take advantage of the full extent of the protective vest, you should make sure that the fit of the garment meets the following criteria: - the garment should not cause discomfort if you are in your normal riding position and in no way hinder your movement sequences.
- the protective body covers the areas to be protected.
Users need to be sure that all equipment and closures are securely fastened before they start riding activities and that the protective vest is close to the body, but not too tight.
Caution: users must avoid buying a protector that is too large, as a protective vest that is too large can increase the risk of falling or injury. The protective vest is flexible on the sides and adapts to a certain extent to the size of the rider.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORT
Store your protective vest on a hanger or in a flat position in a dry and well-ventilated place at not too high a temperature and without direct sunlight. Do not place heavy objects on the vest during general storage or transport, as this may damage the protector's protective body. The manufacturer recommends transporting the protective vest on a hanger.

The foam in the protective vest is a thermoelastic foam made of special chemical
components. It is sensitive to extreme temperature effects. The function of the protective vest is reduced by approx. 10% at a temperature of 30° C. Do not store on the ground or under heavy objects, this could lead to deformation, tearing or other damage to the protective body.

CLEANING
The protective vest can be cleaned up to 5 times in hand wash using a mild detergent (at 30°C, do not hurl, do not dry).
Please make sure that the protector inserts are back to their original positions after washing. In the longer term, the manufacturer recommends removing any contamination on the protector with a damp cloth. Please do not use solvents or other chemical substances for cleaning.

INSTRUCTIONS
If the garment is damaged in the area of the protective body after an accident, the functionality of the protective vest must be checked. The foam layers of the vest absorb the impact energy in the best possible way, but each blow reduces the function of the protector vest and can cause damage to the protective body. Therefore, we recommend replacing the protective vest after each heavy impact to ensure optimal protection for future applications. This protective vest has removable parts. A damaged protective vest no longer provides complete protection. The manufacturer points out that the parts must be replaced in case of possible damage.
We would like to stress that the most effective reduction of the risk of accidents is mindful behaviour and a careful handling of speed. No protective vest can prevent spinal injuries and guarantee complete protection. We would like to point out that extreme weather changes and temperature fluctuations, as well as the use of solvents, but also manual influences, can affect the protective function of the protector system. Any contamination or alteration of the protective protector, as well as its misuse, can reduce its functionality to a dangerous extent.
We hereby declare that the product does not contain any substances that could endanger your health. If you would like more information, please contact the manufacturer. If you no longer use the protector, please dispose of it in a recycling yard.
